Million Minutes invites you to be part of SiLENT, our inspiring campaign rising vital funds to support our work with young people across the country. Since 2011, SiLENT has empowered people to embrace silence as a powerful act of reflection and solidarity. Silence has deep roots in the Christian tradition, especially during Lent—it’s a time to pause, reflect, and listen.
During Lent, we are asking you to use silence as a tool for action. By participating in SiLENT, you’ll amplify the voices of those who are often overlooked and unheard- standing in solidarity with marginalized young people and helping to create a world where every voice matters.

Introducing Act Loud
Through Act Loud, we transform quiet reflection into purposeful action. Ensuring that even the smallest acts of solidarity can lead to big change.
With SiLENT, we encourage/inspire young people to listen, reflect and empathize. With Act Loud, we empower them to take the next step—to act, advocate and create a ripple effect of justice and hope.

In previous years, the SiLENT campaign by Million Minutes has been a powerful initiative, inspiring young people to take a stand by staying silent and reflecting on those who often go unheard.
The campaign creates a reflective space for young people to understand the power of listening and standing in solidarity with marginalised voices. During Lent since 2011, friends and supporters of our work have pledged an amount of time to be silent, gained sponsorship, and raised awareness of the voices of young people.
This year we are introducing ActLoud, where we can turn our silence and moments of reflection into social action.

We run SiLENT because we feel Lent and 'silence' is an essential part of the Christian tradition and because sponsored silence allows us to raise money for our work with young people across the country.
This year, we are running ActLoud alongside it. ActLoud is an optional step to build upon our silence, bringing in another aspect of the Christian tradition: social action.

As a community, we share a collective responsibility to care for one another—not just "our own," but everyone. In today’s world, this sense of solidarity and connection has never been more important.
Young people hold a powerful vision for the future—a vision full of hope, possibility, and change. But they cannot do it alone. Together, we must listen, stand with them, and work hand in hand to turn their vision into reality. Shape a brighter future for us all. Let’s rise to this challenge, united in purpose and action.

We exist to create a Church where young people take transformative social action, rooted in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and to listen to, understand and respond to the evolving needs of young people.
